Feast or Famine

What a weekend. Saturday was the worst. When I wasn't out cycling, I was in front of the computer ALL DAY. I had many tabs open, and I was surfing around. Some for extra pocket money, some for more free traffic.

I always refresh the PPP tab as I cruise around my computer. I checked that thing all day and nothing. I finally sent a question out to other PPP posties on the bulletin board. I was concerned it may have something to do with my flaking on the video opp and that now maybe I am not qualified for as many opps, and I would have to wait a while to build up my qualifications again. That didn't seem to be the case when I got an answer from another postie. That postie says they probably do that (not fulfill a reserved opp) about 10xs a week. . . . . Well, I'm glad I have only the one flakeroo, but I was bummed I wasn't able to grab more jobs on that fine Saturday. It was a beautiful day. At least I made the most of it by cycling all around and many times. You can read about that on my other blog, Falcon Says.

That postie also mentioned, that rarely do jobs pop up on the weekend, and that was a normal Saturday. Well, the only reason I questioned it was because it didn't seem normal to me. I have only been doing this a couple months, but there are plenty of weekends in a couple months. Just last Sunday, I was thrilled to see jobs opening up right and left, and I managed to grab some. I attributed the easier grabs on a Sunday morning to other folks possibly being at Church and not plopped in front of their computer.

I continued my quest Saturday, kept refreshing. I was at my desk until around 9p.m. when I finally got up, only to let one of the cats out that was mowwing at the front door. I immediately walked back over here and refreshed my PPP page.

You would, at least, think that any missed opps would have been legitimate, while I was out cycling! But noooooo, didn't miss anything then. My dumb luck, I had to miss an opp when I'm 2seconds and 2feet away from the computer!

It was 2minutes after 9p.m. I could NOT believe after all day surfing, I just missed an opp. I don't even remember exactly how much it was. I have almost blocked the event out of my mind, I was so pissed. I think it was $10 or $12.

Being right after 9p.m., I figured maybe PPP's east coast computers were set to release some new opps the very next day, right at midnight.

Sunday, I continued to surf and just missed some more. Just before and right at 9p.m. Sunday, I clicked again and again. Nothing. Then, of course, sometime after that I missed more.

So, there is no consistency and you can't really count on anything. It's really all just dumb luck if you grab an open opp or not. Unless you literally have all day every day to sit in front of the computer and refresh refresh refresh.
